OMNIMASTER wins Swedwood competition!

Swedwood is the leading supplier to IKEA. The Swedwood group consists of more than 40 production facilities on three continents.

The Swedwood facility in Slovakia Swedwood Majcichov exclusively splices veneers for the furniture industry. Swedwood Majcichov has been glue spliceing larger veneer faces since start of the production in 2006 with several crossfeed splicers form Fisher+Rückle, type CROSSMASTER. Smaller furniture parts were/are still stitched with Zig-Zag glue thread machines. In order to meet the demanding quality standards of IKEA, Swedwood Majcichov needed to change over their production from glue thread stitching to the high quality glue splicing step by step.

Therefore, Swedwood Majcivoc tested machines with this glue splicing technology from three different machine manufacturers. Fisher+Rückle provided the OMNIMASTER glue splicer with integrated glue applicator for this test run.

All machines were tested according to a precisely defined evaluation process. The test duration, under production conditions, in a multi shift operation, was one month. The following criteria where checked:

• Quality of the spliced veneer joints

• Continuous reliability

• Ease of operation

• General quality of machine and operational safety

Fisher+Rückle is proud to announce that they won this controlled test with the best overall result. The following best qualifications were awarded to our OMNIMASTER to the test winner:

• Best quality of the spliced veneer (best joint)

• Best glue application (constant and exact glue application without over glues)

• Best glue pot as to cleaning and ease of operation

• Best infeed system as to ease of operation

• Best quality of the transport chains

Fisher+Rückle had the pleasure to receive a major order form Swedwood Majcichov with an option for follow-up orders after conclusion of the evaluation process.
